
Haier, the biggest home appliance maker in China, introduced a Wi-Fi-enabled, hard drive-based music and video player with a touch-pad interface at the Consumer Electronics Show 2007 in collaboration with AOL. The player dubbed ‘Smartscreens Media Device‘ for the time being comes with a whopping 30GB hard drive and it’s running Linux.
Featuring Bluetooth, sport for MPEG4 and WMV, the WiFi player will allow the users to download music from various services and even stream Internet radio. The stainless steel looks account for its good looking interface. Well, the player in its early phases and it is not expected to hit the shelves until Q2 of 2007.
