With the mounting technology and ever growing popularity of the portable MP3s, wireless docks for portable players have become the hot demand of the day. Following the latest footings, Creative has popped up with the Xdock Wireless, an iPod audio and docking solution that transports audio wirelessly from your iPod to your stereo or home theatre system.
It can deliver audio to a number of X-Fi wireless receivers located as far as 100 feet distance. The system also can play video, photos and music in DTS surround-sound. Some of the important specs of the Xdock are:
• Plays music via multiple X-Fi Wireless Receivers that are sold independently, in different corners of the home linked to powered speakers or a home theater.
• Plays music with Creative’s Xtreme Fidelity, which is far superior than CD class.
• Features a line-out for connection to powered speakers that works as an optical-out to your home theater for DTS surround-sound as well.
• Comes with a wireless remote to direct the iPod menu, adjust volume levels, and trigger X-Fi Crystalizer and X-Fi CMSS-3D.
• Docks and charges an iPod and presents line-in for connection of other audio devices.
• Offers S-video and composite video-out connections for viewing digital photos and videos, stored in your iPod, on a TV screen.
The Xdock possibly will reach the shelves of stores by the middle of the year for $200, and you will have to pay an additional $100 for X-Fi Wireless Receivers.
