MAKE’s Daisy MP3 Player Kit is a cool bunch of devices that certainly will pull a creative geek out of you. Fundamentally, it’s not a fully developed player but just an open-source setup, comes in fractions, capable of running MP3 and 48 kHz WAV files out of single minute chip board and facilitates as good audio quality as an iPod.
All you have to do is pull the kit together and give a power source in addition to casing according to your likings. Capable of accessing about 65,000 tracks, the Daisy includes the Make Controller and you will be able to integrate it with kiosks, displays and art installations as well. One can’t expect better than this. The entire kit is available from MAKE as well as straight from its Oakland-based designer for $115.
