The news Zune is not compatible with windows Vista was a big issue and a big headache for those who had already purchased both of them and found the same.
MoDaCo, and Andre de Cavaignac have outlined some strategies those may turn your Zune to be Vista compatible.
You need to perform some simple steps, which may work to solve the purpose. To carry on the process you need 3 things
1. Zune CD
2. You need to install WinRAR
3. My Zune.msi install patch
When you have all these things done we start with the process firstly, you need to create a dictionary on your Desktop for temporary storage and down load zunevista.exe or simply copy the file in this dictionary. Now insert the Zune CD in drive and copy Zune-x86-ENU.exe file from PackagesZUNE’ directory to the dictionary you created, after copying the file right click it and select ‘Extract Here’. you will get a file named ‘Zune.msi’ now you can delete ‘Zune-x86-ENU.exe’. Now we’re going to patch the MSI to install on Vista using my patch. Double click ‘zunevista.exe’. You’ll get prompted by Windows to allow the application to run. Allow it. After some will find a message ’successfully completed’ which means now you have finally got a Vista friendly zune.msi! .
Now the most painful step when you have to run MSI, You can’t just right click an MSI and do ‘run as administrator’, so you have to jump through some hoops. Now to run the application with elevated permission click the start button, type a command ‘cmd’ and press CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. Type C:UsersPaulDesktopZuneZune.msi to run MSI, which will lead you to Zune setup. Install the setup and reboot the system. The last and final step you need to perform is Click the ’start orb’ or press the windows key, and type ‘Zune’. You’ll see the Zune application itself on the list - right click it, and select ‘Properties’. Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’. Click OK.
That’s all it may work with your PC it work good one mine. For more detailed information, you can click here.
