To compete the pricings of the iPod nanos and to battle the dominance or supremacy of IPod over the years, Samsung proclaimed cut down price for its MP3 player.

As far as Samsung’s YP-Z5 1GB model, counterpart to Apple Computer Inc’s iPod nanos with a longer battery life and larger screen, is concerned, it has been lowered to NT$4,400 from NT$4,990, whereas, the 2GB model has been condensed to NT$5,400 from NT$5,990, and the 4GB priced at NT$7,000 from NT$7,490.

Samsung also rolled two new MP3 players, the K5 claiming to be the first ever player to attribute a set of compact speakers from the back, and T9 featuring a 1.8-inch liquid-crystal-display with 176 x 220 pixels resolution, resulting clear and sharp images of MPEG-4 video files.

With Apple holding the top position in the market for the first eight months of the year, it would be interesting to see whether Samsung will be able to pose any contest with cut down prices.
