Cowon iAudio F2: No dude it’s not a phone, it’s a DAP

Boundaries are diminishing from all respect of creation, is it because of lack of innovation or hipper imagination, it’s impossible to say. Now, look at this phone, sorry DAP, that incorporates even the minutest appearances from the cell phone world. This sham is Cowon’s iAudio F2 with a 128×160 pixel 1.3-inch screen, an FM radio, voice recording, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG Vorbis and FLAC. However, to catch video you need to re-encode their clips. 22 hours battery back up is quite upright and 2 GB memory is respectable. Infact, it can be considered a fine try out. Available from 22 September for 179,000 won or $187.

Cowon to unveil P5 and A3 PMPs later this year

Cowon is all set to release a duo of PMPs named Cowon P5 and A3. The P5 has a 5″ touchscreen display and is the high-end version of Cowon A3. The P5 features a DMB antenna and runs on Windows CE5. Along with navigation, it has HSDPA modem support. The Cowon A3 shows all the similar specification of the A2. It will run on Linux and there will be a new internal CPU, for batter performance. The Korean firm will roll out the product in the last quarter of the year.

Cowon A3/Q5 to be launched on CES

COWON Q5 is the first new model presented by COWON. The best part of the device is that it features wide 5-inch LCD touch screen that offers a better view. This PMP works with WinCE 5.0 also supports Navigation, DMB and an external HSDPA module. Talking about A3 it is an upgrade to A2 the previous version launched by the Company the only improvement made with this model is installation of a high-performance chip set called “Davinci”, that promises high end movie playback. Company has plans to various other devices at the show, the list includes D2, N2, U3, T2, F2, X5 etc.

Cowon Unveils A3 and Q5 PMPs

Cowon have announced two new PMPs for the CES. These new dudes include A3 that is the upgraded version of A2 PMP and the other one is Q5. The A3 Features: – 4-inch Display – 480 x 272 Resolution – DMB Receiver – ‘DaVinci’ Video Processing Chip All these features are also covered in its big brother the Q5. The Q5 features: – 5-inch Touch Screen – GPS – DMB Receiver – Windows CE 5.0 – External HSDPA Module There has been no news from the company regarding the resolution of Q5 or the price tag of both these players. These will be shown off at the CES along with a wide range of PMPs.

Cowon Stops Producing iAudio D1 4GB DAP

Cowon has informed UK retailer Advanced MP3 Players that the company has stopped the production of the 4GB version of iAudio D1 flash player. The company claimed that they had to stop the production following some production and demand issues. The iAudio D1 is similar to the company’s iAudio 6 player that was the world’s first 0.85′ HDD player. The Cowon iAudio D1 featured: � 4GB storage � 160 x 120 OLED Display � MP3/OGG/FLAC/WAV/MP4 Audio Playback � Gigantic 60mW Amplifier The company also planned an improved version of the player with DAB Radio with recording and time shifting capabilities. Till now there is no word from Cowon that the company can release a smaller 1GB or 2GB version of the player. This is not the first time that the company has stopped the production of some of its products.
