Creative, after creating ripples for their Zen patent and Apple lawsuit ($100m), has stated that they are planning to tail their patent cases anywhere else. Craig McHugh, head of Creative Labs Inc, quoted that there are many Zen technology user cellphones having MP3 players in the US market. Now they are taking steps to protect their patents. The matter has gone so disfigured that USPTO will have to show it’s involvement.

Creative has formally lowered the price of Zen V. The same process underwent with Vision M, whose price at the time of it’s release was $329 an dropped to $299 after few months. Prices for the 1,2, and 4GB Zen V were $119, $149, and $179 respectively at the time of release. It would be definitely delighting news to the users of Zen V. The fans are also hoping a drop in the price of Zen V Plus. Definitely, from the business point of view, it will mount the consumption of the gadget, giving rise to the monotony of the company over the market as well as users affordability.

Creative backs off FM Recording from portable players
Sorry guys! Creative is backing off FM radio recording from its portable music players. Above and beyond Creative has released a firmware “update” for its Zen MicroPhoto which adds Audible support and other minor fixes and Zen Vision:M players featuring video zooming and language support, but eliminates FM recording feature from both players. FM radio is a part of the RIAA’s music collection that desires XM to pay about $150,000 per song. Stringent regulations are not only affecting music companies but consumers as well.
Creative unveils TravelSound ZEN V with remote control
Creative has announced a shiny black dock for the ZEN V and ZEN V Plus. The Travel Sound ZEN V comes with a little matching remote control to make controls more conveniently handled. It also boasts a rod antenna for FM tuner. The product is powered by an AC adapter or with batteries. The product will be launched in the end of November in Japan with a price tag of $108. This will surely give some fight to iPod and Zune.

With so many companies in the fray for supremacy in the music player market, Creative doesn’t want to let Apple and Microsoft steal all the charm in the global market and has integrated the FM recording capability back to its Zen MicroPhoto and Zen Vision:M players. You might be aware that about a month back, Creative had removed the FM radio recording functionality from these two players. Well, I am not sure whether they are rolling out new players with the recording function or they are providing any facilities for the customers who have these players without the FM radio recording function to get an upgrade.
