iRiver seems to be attacking iPod Nano with their latest PMP dubbed X20. The X20, which will be available some time in the next week, has many features that can be compared with the Apple offering. The X20 boasts of 2GB, 4GB and 8GB flavors. The main difference between the two devices that is iPod Nano and X20 is that X20 can also play videos on the 2.2-inch QVGA display. The device also features support for MP3 / WMA / OGG audio files and WMV / MP4 video formats. It also has a MicroSD expansion slot to take care of all the additional songs and videos. Freestyle Audio has unveiled Fusion series of waterproof MP3 players that can play music even if they are below 10 feet of water. The device has been specially developed for the people who cannot live without surfing and music. Music players cannot be used while in water as a single drop can change the whole scenario. The device has been developed by an electric engineer named Lance Fried who says that the device has been inspired from a Beer cooler. He also states that once he was busy surfing and when he approached his beer cooler his MP3 player went into water and could not be used again. After the incident he decided to develop a waterproof solution to listen to music while he is on the waves. The device weighs just 35 grams and has four buttons and no display. The small size and the weight make the device perfect for wet suits and can also be attached to a small armband. The device will cost you around $150 and there is no need for extra software to keep the device running. All you have to do is to plug the device into the USB port of your computer and transfer music and also charge the player. Oppo has launched a portable video player named V5 that can be compared to the Video iPod of our dreams. Korea’s Qrio electronics has rolled out its new model of Portable Media Player Qrio Q4. The device touts an easy to use interface with hidden side controls and no controls on the face of the player to produce an impression of touchscreen enabled technology. This super compact PMP includes all essential specs in its glossy design that can playback popular audio and video formats. It has 4 GB of onboard flash memory but lacks in Buetooth,Wi-Fi and expansion slot. The model weighs only 64 grams and comprises 2.4 inches bright display that supports 260k colors. iRiver B20 PMP with DMB/DAB support gets the release date
The iRiver B20 portable media player, which was earlier showcased at the CES show, has now been officially announced to make a debut on April 25. Very much like its predecessor B10, the new B20 PMP is a DMB device and sports DAB digital TV/audio. The device touts a widescreen 2.4-inch display, a miniSD slot, and is compatible with an array of media formats such as MP3, WMA, OGG, MPEG-4, WMV9, and JPG. Now we can say that ‘Small’ is still getting ‘Smaller’. Korean manufacturer named Ocacom has just presented its mini PMP that incorporates a 2′ display. This stylish marvel withholds a good reputation as far as it’s features are concerned. The company has made it capable enough to support a wide range of codecs, including the DRM free codecs.
