Panasonic is out with cool RP-WF5500 which is something pretty exciting for all music lovers. The phones give you a complete blast and also look damn cool as far as designs are concerned. With its 40-millimeter drivers the music carries on non stop for some good six hours if and when fully charged.

The equipment can pick up from the range of over 30 meters and weighs just 0.56 pounds. You can also accentuate the set with a pair of optical digital audio inputs or an analog audio input or one optical audio output and a bass boost function so as to keep your music full on every time. The way it has been designed, it I pretty genuine that the piece will cost a good deal. So better we wait for the price to be announced.

The so called revolutionary iPhone has changed things not only for you but also for Apple. If you are going to buy an iPod in the recent future then I think you should wait for some time as some analysts believe that Apple should soon roll out a touchscreen iPod.

Analysts believe that the iPod should go touchscreen by 2008. This will be the sixth-generation of iPods. Some other rumors are that the new iPods will be flash based just like the iPhone, but chances for the same are even less than the chances of iPods going touchscreen.

The reason that iPods cannot go flash just like the iPhone is that flash memory is much expensive and even Apple will want the iPhone to stand from the crowd of its own gadgets. And moreover a 100GB or more iPod will just burn a terrible hole in your pocket as well. Are you ready to take on that damage…?

Well, geeks now, here is an iPhone-like PMP called Slickr by Venzero. However, the device comes with same sleek and glossy looks like an iPhone but sans touchscreen and relies on button navigation.

Even then, this German beauty comes with few arresting features like simple 2GB of memory with an SD card slot for expansion, plays MP3s, WMAs, and WAV files, view JPEGs and watch AVI movies on the 2.83″ TFT screen, FM radio and built-in speakers.

The best part is that the device also facilitates you to record voice memos in WAV format. It also touts a feature called MusicMarker that is a Verizon’s SongID or AT&T’s MusicID phone service that listens to a song and deduces the track title and artist by analyzing the sounds. But, the users need to connect the Slickr to their computer to use the MusicMarker feature.

The device will hit our shelves sometimes in August, but if you are so desperate to get it, you can pick one up now from Venzero’s site.

Looks can be quite deceptive. An ugly duckling could be a baby swan in disguise. Well... almost!! Borrowing its looks from an alien discard, the Victor Alneo (note the similarity!!) is a Digital Audio Player (DAP) that has been highly underrated.

There are few DAPs in the market that offer line-in recording. The addition of this feature is what makes the Alneo different. You can convert music from an external source into an mp3 file. If you brush the aesthetics aspect aside, the DAP is a useful gadget. It also includes an external microphone for voice recording. The encoding rates for the conversion are in the range of 96-160kbps. Additionally, it supports WMA and DRM9 formats. The 3-line OLED screen audio player has a battery life of 20 hrs per recharge, which is quite decent compared to its illustrious competitors. I shouldn’t be talking about competition ‘coz this player is just not up there. However, for what it offers, we can offer it a little leeway.

The Alneo DAP is available in two variants – 1 GB and 2 GB. The pricing is ₯15,000 ($125) and ₯19,000 ($160) respectively. I believe Victor has made a valiant effort, which, perhaps, is just not good enough.

Manufacturers today are busy releasing PMPs in the already crowded market. Still if you are a gadget freak and want to own every PMP available then this deal surely is exciting for you.

The TEAC MP-600 is 3-inches wide and just 9mm thin and comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen and an FM tuner with digital voice recording capabilities.

The device is trained to play XviD, MP3, WMA, DRM9 and JPEG and comes in different versions that of course are dependent on the amount of memory in these devices. These versions are 1GB, 2GB and 4GB. If you think that you require some more space then you can enhance the storage area with MMC/SD flash cards.

The 2GB version will sell for $197 and the 4GB one for $230. If you really are interested in this device then you can purchase it immediately.

If it is small, it is in. No matter how feature-rich it is. And when you have earned the reputation for being the smallest and naturally, the cutest, there is little you must do in terms of attracting buyers. The same goes with the Thomson A1.

The world’s smallest Personal Media Player (PMP) consists of a screen that makes up almost 95% of the size of the player. The player is no bigger than 3.2 inches, while the 16:9 high-definition TFT screen is 3 inches in size. And it weighs only 87 grams. The size is not the only catch here. The gadget is an incredible PMP that plays movies, displays pics and has even an FM tuner. The formats supported include (24fps), MP3, WMA, WAV, JPG and BMP. With a stainless steel frame, the A1 is ably supported on the looks front as well.

The PMP comes in 8 GB and 4GB variants and unlike the size, the price is not too small at $120 and $106 respectively. Well, for once, substance rules!

It is very hard to understand the rationality behind some releases. I wouldn’t deny that certain products are targeted at specific sections. However, some defy logic; like the HMP-X5 by Hitachi. Undoubtedly, Hitachi would position this player as small and affordable. However, I would find it hard to believe that this player would have any takers.

Everything is basic about the HMP-X5 mp3 player, right from its monochrome display and its directional control pad to its 2GB flash memory. In an age where even the players with the best features take a drubbing, I find the attempt by Hitachi very tenacious. One thing that goes in favor of this player is its 16 hour battery life, however. Yet, I doubt if that would make any difference to a buyer.

This blade like mp3 player comes in black or white colors and the price would change depending on market acceptance. Now, that really says everything about the mindset. This successor to the HMP-G1 is going nowhere.
